The presentation was on integrated child health information system architecture models, using Rhode Island’s KIDSNET as an example. The talk included discussion about how such models can inform DMI, as well as considerations for such models in a DMI and FHIR-enabled world.

Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense Call For a National Public Health Data System
In April 2022 the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense released a new report titled The Athena Agenda: Advancing the Apollo Program for Biodefense. The “Athena Agenda” primary IT recommendation is the development of a National Public Health Data System.

CMS Releases Proposed Updates to Medicare MIPS Promoting Interoperability Program
On May 10, 2022 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) related to changes in the Medicare Program Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment Systems for Acute Care Hospitals and the Long-Term Care Hospital Prospective Payment System.
