On November 1, 2024, HLN released a new version (v2.44.1) of the Immunization Calculation Engine (ICE) in support of updates to the COVID-19 vaccine. ICE is a state-of-the-art open source software system that provides clinical decision support for immunizations for use in Immunization Information Systems (IIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Personal Health Record (PHR) Systems.
Version 2.44.1, includes the following additions and changes. Please see the Release Notes for details.
- DTP: Added a minimum recommended age of 7 years in the DTP 5-dose series when the Six by Seven rule applies.
- Influenza: Updated wiki to reflect the 2024-2025 season. Influenza 2024-2025 Season rules remain unchanged from last season. Note: There are no evaluation and forecasting changes for the 2024-2025 season.
- RSV: Added support for a new RSV Vaccine Group and two RSV series: RSV Infant Series (seasonal series for infants younger than 8 months of age) and RSV Adult Series (for adults age 75 years and older). This brings ICE in line with the latest ACIP routine recommendations for infants and older adults.
The ICE Implementation Guide and the ICE Implementation Guide Codes sheet have been updated to include the new RSV vaccine group, RSV series, and the RSV CVX codes.
Forthcoming ICE releases: The next ICE release available shortly will address the latest COVID-19 recommendations.
